MyStyle: Rainy day blues

Above: The umbrella, blue tank & belt are all thrifted! It seems like I haven’t been thrifting in WEEKS! I went this past week and got some AMAZING pieces for summer. I don’t know why anyone would ever pay over 2$ for a basic tank top. I ended up trying on about 25 tanks tops and purchased about 10 of those! I also got a few pair of vintage printed pants that are so gorgeous (they are at the tailor now), a beautiful maxi skirt, the blue button down tank... Read The Rest →

The shorts

{via} I am a bit frustrated. I love the freedom that fashion offers. You can literally wear whatever you want whenever you want. When I was in NY during fashion week, I saw some of THE most ridiculous things in the name of “fashion”. I get that there is freedom, but why, in our freedom, do folks choose to make bad choices. This brings me to the booty short. Again. They make me sad & they make my bits hurt just looking at them. There is nothing darling about denim... Read The Rest →

Just darling..

{via} I would probably wear this all the time. The bottom of the dress would get disgusting {lets be honest} but I think it would be worth it. I would also ‘Just say NO’ to that cute little hat. It totally works on this darling red head but would look a bit {extremely} ridiculous on myself.

Must have…

{via} I know I said it yesterday, but I am so serious about some printed pants for spring. I am not talking about Lilly Pulitzer printed pants but like some awesome, ‘I’ll fight you if I have to’, printed pants. I want to be taken serious in my printed pants. Let the search begin!

The Printed Pant..

{via} I am on the lookout for printed pants. I currently have colored pants in: royal blue, yellow, grey, purple and maroon. I love them all! Oh sweet thrift stores, please save some printed pants for me! I am {hopefully} headed to Nashville next month and Kansas City in June {2 of my favourite places to thrift}. These lovely cities never let me down when it comes to fabulous thrifted treasures. I recently was in Towson, MD and found some AMAZING pieces at Goodwill & Salvation Army. I LOVE thrifting... What I wear: Running Errands..

Some days are spent running errands with my little darling. I love these new stretchy cord pants and my new Sperry’s. They go so well with my white tank and thrifted Oshkosh B’gosh jacket. Yes. I wear kids clothes. It is a little secret of mine {that isn’t a secret anymore}. When thrifting, ALWAYS check out other departments. Some kids clothes run big {and they are cheaper!} and sometimes things get misplaced. I have found some of my favourite pieces hidden in the linen section or the men’s {people don’t... Bright & Beautiful

{via} I am not sure what season it actually is right now but, for some reason, I am wanting to wear bright colors. I would love it if you went out and bought something bright and lovely. Please don’t get hot pink booty shorts though…get something BEAUTIFUL {like this skirt or top above}. Or, if you are anything like me, you will head to a thrift store and find a fabulous vintage treasure. I bought some lipstick last week and am obsessed with it {NARS Heat Wave}! It is the... Dream car

I love squares. I really don’t know what that says about my personality but it’s true. It is my favourite shape. Makes me so happy. I love this square car. I am not sure that I love that round tire on the front, but the rest of the car is perfect. I can picture myself, with my thrifting buddy Julie, in the middle of some random state (Illinois, Missouri, Indiana) with our little hot beverages and our shoulder strap leather bags, hustlin’ folks for their discarded treasures. I picture a... Read The Rest →

Love your dishes!

I love dishes. A few years back, I purchased a matching set of all white plates, mugs & bowls. It worked at the time but then I realized something: I don’t like matching things.  Oh the beauty of self discovery. I began collecting plates that I LOVED. I began collecting mugs that I LOVE! I only have cups that I absolutely LOVE. Life is way too short to be eating off stupid plates that you don’t love. This plate is one of the plates that I use most often. I... Read The Rest →

Day 5: On a little trip

How was your week? My week was…interesting. The week before was SO full and I think I was just trying to process it all this week which means I sort of disappear. Speaking of disappear, lets talk about these pants for a second. I am SICK OF THEM! For this last day, I am going to show you that some items are best thrown in a bag and taken to your local thrift store. The great thing about shopping at a thrift store is that you don’t feel too bad... Read The Rest →
