Wedding Headpiece

When I first saw this dress, I just knew that the sleeves had to go. I took it home and quickly, but not carefully, chopped off one of the sleeves to see what the dress COULD look like. My mother would tell you that I am a ‘don’t waste your time measuring, just cut then figure it out later’ sort of a girl. One time, a long time ago, I wanted to sew some pants but I didn’t want to waste any time with that silly thing they call a pattern. I took a current pair of pants, laid them open and face up on my fabric of choice, and began cutting it out. Turns out, you have to actually fold the pants in half to give them any sort of a crotch and that is just the beginning…

So lets just say that I took this little dress to an actual Tailor. Sewing is NOT my cup of espresso. I have not the patience for it. I wanted to keep the sleeve because I knew that I wanted to wear a big ‘ol puffy thing on my head for our pictures. I headed on over to my friend Julie’s house and we got to work with just some thread, needles, hot glue, a clip (that I ripped out of another hair accessory) and our little creative minds.

It took WAY longer than I thought to make that little thing but it was well worth it.
